Borrow against tokenized stocks.
Protected when the market isn't trading.
HaltGate is a credit desk for xStocks collateral that automatically freezes risk the moment a corporate action halts trading — so you're never liquidated against a stale price, and the pool is never left exposed to one.

How it works
A lending market that knows the exchange can close
Supply xStocks collateral
Deposit wrapped, tokenized stock (wNVDAx) as collateral. Value accrues through the wrapper's own exchange rate — your balance doesn't rebase under you.
Borrow USDG against it
Borrow up to a fixed max LTV. Every value comparison is normalized internally, so collateral and debt in different decimals are never mixed up.
Trading halts, HaltGate freezes with it
The instant the exchange halts the underlying stock and the price oracle pauses, new borrowing and all liquidations stop market-wide — automatically.
Repay anytime, resume when price is live
Repaying your own debt is never blocked, even mid-halt. Once real trading resumes and a fresh price lands, the market reopens in a deliberate, ordered sequence.
Protection
Built for what real stocks actually do
Halt-aware by design
Borrowing and liquidations freeze market-wide the instant a corporate action pauses the price feed — not after the fact.
Three-tier governance
A fast, narrow keeper for time-sensitive halts; a multisig for oracle control; a multisig + timelock for risk parameters.
Decimals-safe accounting
Every value comparison is normalized to an internal 18-decimal WAD, so a 6-decimal debt token and an 18-decimal collateral token never get compared incorrectly.
Hardened against reentrancy
Every state-changing function is reentrancy-guarded, and oracle freshness is checked independently of the halt state machine itself.
Open, permissionless liquidations
Anyone can liquidate an undercollateralized position for a fixed bonus — capped by a close factor so one price move can't wipe a position in a single call.
Slither-clean, fully tested
120 tests across the full lifecycle — decimals, reentrancy, oracle staleness, governance, and the halt state machine itself.
Fixed Term
No liquidation. Ever.
A second loan type where maturity replaces liquidation. Lock a rate and an end date, and between those two points nothing can close your position out, however far the stock falls.
- Rate
- Moves with utilization
- How it can close
- Liquidated if the price falls far enough
- Max LTV
- 45% to 60%, set per asset
- Rate
- Quoted once, never changes
- How it can close
- Cannot be liquidated at any price
- Max LTV
- 30% to 45%, set per asset
The tradeoff is real and stated everywhere it applies: you borrow less against the same collateral, and missing the end date forfeits the whole position rather than part of it. Both loan types stay available side by side.
Governance
The market's state machine, not a human's judgment call
Every halt follows the same fixed sequence. Nobody can skip a step, and repayment is never blocked, no matter which state the market is in.
Supply, borrow, repay, and liquidate all available.
A corporate action is approaching. New supply/borrow paused.
Oracle frozen. Only repayment is available until it resolves.
Fresh price is in. Liquidations wait one beat before reopening.
Tier 1 — Keeper
Fast and narrow. Only flips the halt state machine — nothing else. Not gated by a timelock, because reacting to a real halt is time-sensitive.
Tier 2 — Multisig
Controls the price oracle directly. No timelock delay here either — pausing and resuming the feed has to track real-world events as they happen.
Tier 3 — Multisig + Timelock
Risk parameters — max LTV, liquidation threshold, liquidation bonus. Rare, high-impact changes get a mandatory delay before they can execute.
